Archiving the Discord Server Chat Channels

Ever since we opened our Discord server in January 2022, we have lived an amazing journey with you guys by our side. We learned a lot with the conversations we had there about the project, and we're really grateful for all of the hype, the ideas, the fun moments and everything in general that we shared together.

After some time had passed, we noticed that, for Blokoto to grow in a strong and healthy manner, we had to evolve the way that our community interacts within itself. We want to make sure that our best ideas are not lost, and that our energy is 100% focused towards actually improving the game in the best way possible for you, the player.

Why are we doing this?

Fleeting conversations vs. lasting knowledge

The Discord conversations were fantastic, but fleeting in a certain manner. A great suggestion, a bug report, or a solution to an already existing problem would easily get lost in the flow of the chat. At the start, the server had a lot of important and valuable discussions about the game, and a really strong hype towards the project's development. We always had incredible users that really enjoyed having fun through constructive conversations, but all of this important knowledge ended up getting lost in an temporary format.

As time went on, however, the server naturally evolved towards an space with a lot of casual and off-topic conversations, instead of discussions that actually involved Blokoto. Even though we really appreciate how the community turned out to be, we came to the realization that this format wasn't really aligned with our objective of building a dedicated space towards Blokoto's development.

Besides all that, nothing written on Discord is publicly displayed. If someone talks about a new feature, makes a suggestion, reports a bug, or fixes a problem, the discussion ends right then and there. No one will be able to find these conversations through search engines (like Google, Kagi, etc.). This valuable content is held hostage by Discord.

Total focus on development

Keeping the chat active needs constant attention and a lot of invested time. All of the conversations are our responsability: We nneed to know what they're talking about to know if we should intervene or not. Moderating a Discord server consumes a lot of energy and attention that could be directly invested towards the development of the game, and on the creation of content for all of the community.

The Forum: A Permanent lair for all of your ideas

Our community forum exists to solve this problem: Every single suggestion, feedback and solution to problems ends up being publicly displayed for everyone there, making things more accessible to the whole community, specially for the ones who may start playing Blokoto in the future.

Blokoto Community
Our community is a vibrant space for creators and players to collaborate, design unique assets, and build immersive multiplayer experiences together in real time.

The forum allows users to find people with the same interest as them, and it'll allow them to discuss their ideas in an organized manner. Problems found in the platform will be available publicly, without the need of using Discord to properly access them

What'll happen now?

To centralize our energies and build this library of knowledge, the Discord chat channels will be archived at the start of December 2025. After this date, the server will only receive news notifications and eventual interactions that require synchronous messaging.

An invite, but not a goodbye

This is not a goodbye, it's an invite towards giving continuity to our journey in a much more powerful and organized space. We're really thankful for everyone who made our Discord server a special place, and we're really hyped to build Blokoto's future with everyone by our sides.
